I've been in the nursing field for over ten years starting out as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). After one year as a C N A, I enrolled in nursing school and EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) school at the same time. I studied both programs simultaneously while working full time at night as a C N A in Mississippi. I finished the EMT program in June of 1997 and the LPN program in December of 1997. I passed my EMT state and national boards and worked as an EMT and C N A while I finished my nursing studies. I started working full time as a LPN in March 1998 and worked ambulance runs part time. I have always enjoyed working in the medical field.

I first applied for nursing school in 1970 after graduating high school and was told that this particular school, in Camden, New Jersey, was not accepting male applicants. Little did I know then that I would be right back where I had started some twenty years later.
